St Catherine, Jamaica: A fatal shooting attack on Forte Street in Linstead resulted in the death of a 63-year-old man. The authorities are probing the matter in detail to arrest the suspect, who is still on the run.

The deceased man has been identified as Uriah Bailey, also known as Arab, and was a butcher of Victoria district in Linstead.

As per the details shared by the officers, the victim was at Forte Street in the vicinity of Marcus Slaughter House at the time of the incident, preparing soup to sell at the nearby bus park. Suddenly, the man armed with a gun entered the area and fired several shots at the victim, which resulted in severe injuries to the upper body and head of Arab.

Notably, the suspect made a good escape from the area following the shooting incident and has not been caught yet by the officers.

Subsequently, the residents of the community discovered Arab bleeding from the injuries caused by the gunshot; they immediately informed the police about the same.

As soon as the officers received the news, they took immediate action, initiated the investigation of the matter, and transported the injured body of the victim to Linstead Hospital. The doctors on duty examined him thoroughly and pronounced Arab dead.

The authorities are conducting thorough investigation and have promised to catch the culprit and punish him for the offence he committed. Several residents of the community took to their social media accounts and expressed their views on the matter.

One person commented, “It’s no war. Someone wants his soup spot, or it’s a Family land dispute. But whatever it is, it is not safe for Jamaica, such crimes being conducted openly.”

Another person commented the following: “Jamaica has not remained a safe country, so many crimes are being held, strict action needs to be implemented to stop increasing crime rate occurring in the nation.”

The residents of the country have requested the administration to take serious actions in order to stop increasing crime rate of the country, ensuring safety and security of the citizens of every nation.
