Denzil Douglas congratulates De’Cheynelle Thomas on qualifying for another CARIFTA event
The Minister for Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis, Denzil Douglas extended congratulations to De’Cheynelle Thomas for achieving another milestone in her life and qualifying for the event at CARIFTA Games 2024.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: The Minister for Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis, Denzil Douglas extended congratulations to De’Cheynelle Thomas for achieving another milestone in her life and qualifying for the event at CARIFTA Games 2024.
While taking to his Facebook account, Minister Douglas shared Thomas’s picture and captioned “Congratulations to De’Cheynelle Thomas on qualifying for yet another event at Carifta Games to be held March 30th-April 1st, in Grenada.”
De’Cheynelle Thomas, resident of Saddlers, Dieppe Bay who usually featured in the 200m and 400m races, this time participated in the 800m race and had a convincing victory over her competitors.
“De’Cheynelle competed in the 800m at the Ginseng Up Classic and qualified with a time of 2:21.76,” mentioned Denzil Douglas.
It is her unwavering commitment and dedication that has led her to this moment of accomplishment. Her passion has always been the driving force that has propelled her to achieve remarkable achievements in whatever field she chooses.
Her hard work and determination shine once again as she is all set to represent her nation on the international stage. Moreover, people will be eying on her as she is making all the efforts to achieve excellence at the prestigious upcoming event which will be held in Grenada from 30th March to 1st April 2024.
Along with that, she also became the first qualifier for the CARIFTA Games 2024. She won a bronze medal in 400m in the Under 17 Women’s Championship with a time frame of 57:30.
CARIFTA GAMES 2024
The 51st edition of the CARIFTA Games is scheduled to take place at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium from 30th March to 1st April 2024. CARIFTA Games is an annual athletics competition that was founded by the Caribbean Free Trade Association. The games consist of many track and field events to nurture the future of athletics in the Caribbean.
