Guyana police found 185 grams of narcotics, arrests two in connection
The authorities from Guyana discovered 185 grams of narcotics during the raid conducted by them at the house of the suspect on Thursday at Mango Landing, Potaro. The two individuals were arrested in connection with the findings.

Georgetown, Guyana: The authorities from Guyana discovered 185 grams of narcotics during the raid conducted by them at the house of the suspect on Thursday at Mango Landing, Potaro. The two individuals were arrested in connection with the findings.
The suspects have been identified as 39-year-old Martin Graham Mittelholzer and Dianne Abrams, both residents of Mango Landing, Potaro.
According to the reports, the authorities from the Mango Landing Police Outpost in Region #8 held a raid exercise at the premises of the suspect and asked permission to conduct the search. The suspects agreed and allowed them to conduct the search exercise.
During the search, the authorities of Guyana discovered a bulky black plastic bag. The bag was reportedly placed behind a gas stove in the kitchen area.
While searching for the bag, the authorities found a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis. Along with the drugs, the authorities also found a quantity of cash. Subsequently, the authorities arrested both the suspects and took them to the Mango Landing Police Outpost along with the narcotics found from them.
Martin Graham Mittelholzer and Dianne Abrams were later taken to the Mahdia Police Station where they weighed the narcotics found from them and it amounted to 185 grams.
Notably, both Martin Graham Mittelholzer and Dianne Abrams are currently in custody and assisting the authorities in the investigation.
Various residents of the community took to their social media accounts and shared their views about the news.
One person with a Facebook account Steve Henriques commented “The government should have proper consultation of the high-quality organic marijuana that is only found in Guyana and can definitely be an asset in the near future. And please let these people go.”
Another person with a Facebook account Keshawn Barakat commented the following “The Police don’t have something better to do.”
The residents of the community have requested the authorities of the country to focus on more serious cases which are becoming more of a threat to the security of the nation and its citizens.
