Georgetown, Guyana: An alleged shooting incident in Guyana shook the residents of the community. A 41-year-old labourer of East Ruimveldt Trench Road got shot by five men, out of which two were possessing handguns.
The victim has been identified as Calvin Johnson’s alias ‘Gunbutt’ and the suspects have not been caught yet by the officials.
As per the information, the victim, Johnson was in the Warlock area when his stepson informed him that some boys tried to take advantage of him. To which, the victim approached the five men, his stepson talked about and was trying to figure out what happened between them. But when he reached there, he discovered handguns with two men.
The men possessing the handgun fired three shots in the victim’s direction which hit him twice to his left ankle. However, he managed to escape from the spot without any further injuries. He was later taken to the hospital, where he was examined thoroughly by the doctors on duty and admitted as a patient.
As per the reports, his condition is regarded as stable and he is recovering well. Moreover, authorities of Guyana are investigating thoroughly into the matter in order to punish the criminal for the offence they committed.
Several residents of the community took to their social media accounts and expressed their views and opinions on the recent crime that recently took place in the country.
One person commented the following “How such people can attack any random person, authorities need to look carefully into the matter.”
Another person wrote, “No one has the right to take anyone’s life, administration needs to take this seriously and give harsh punishment to those criminals.”
The residents of the nation have expressed their concern over the increasing rate of crime activities. They have demanded the administration of the country to take stringent measures and control such activities. For the same, the citizens have asked the authorities to implement strict punishments so that every person could think twice before committing any crime.
