Glock 26 pistol, ammunition discovered in San Rafael area during roadblock exercise

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago: The Ranks of the Northern Division Task Force conducted a blockade exercise in the San Rafael area. They detained a male suspect in connection with a Glock 26 pistol with ammunition on Friday.

The police said that they led a roadblock exercise along Tumpuna Road, South in the areas of San Rafael Single Bridge. During the operation, they stopped a vehicle and conducted a search inside the car.

They found a Glock 26 pistol on the man’s waist, which had a magazine and 12 rounds of nine millimetres. Apart from this, the investigating officers also found a plastic packet containing capsules of the harmful drug ‘Molly’.

Noting this, the suspect was immediately arrested by PC Henry and he was taken to the Maloney Police Station. According to the reports, the accused was identified as a 31-year-old man from the Brazil Village.

In addition, a team of police officers received information about illegal weapons in Old Train Line Road near Tumpuna Road. Upon receiving the information, law enforcement officers arrived at the scene.

Upon arrival, they conducted a thorough search of the area. While searching, they found a black plastic bag. The bag contained a white and black ‘Gucci’ box, which carried the following items,

  • .22 pistol
  • A magazine
  • Ammunition
  • Narcotics

The items were collected and taken to the police division for further investigation. The authorities urged the public, with any information related to the findings, to come forward and record their statements to police and assist them in their enquiries.

Moreover, a 26-year-old man was arrested for the offence of driving without a permit and insurance certificate during the road blockade exercise. The report said the man lived in D’Abadie. The driver is expected to be charged pending investigation.
