Former Premier of Nevis, Vance Amory’s body to reach St Kitts and Nevis on April 20
The body of the late Vance Winkworth Amory, Former Premier of Nevis, will arrive at the twin-island Federation on April 20, 2022 (Wednesday).

St Kitts and Nevis: The body of the late Vance Winkworth Amory, Former Premier of Nevis, Senior Minister in the Federal Cabinet and Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary, will arrive at the twin-island Federation on April 20, 2022 (Wednesday).
After the body reaches the Federation, it will be laid in state at the Parliamentary Chambers, Government Headquarters, Church Street, Basseterre, from April 21, 2022 (Thursday) to April 22, 2022 (Friday).
The general public can pay its respect as well as a wreath to the former Premier of Nevis. The body can be viewed between 9:30 am to 3:30 pm on Thursday, and 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on Friday. Members of the public will be able to file past the casket on the two days and scheduled hours.
Following this, the former leader’s body would be transported to Nevis.
As per the official notice shared by the Governor-General of St Kitts and Nevis – SW Tapley Seaton GCMG, CVO, QC, JP, LLD, the Mourning Period will be observed from April 20, 2022 (Wednesday) to April 30, 2022 (Saturday), both day inclusive.
During the Official Mourning Period, the flags in St Kitts and Nevis would be flown at the half-mast to pay respect to the Amory.
State Funeral would be granted to him, and the authorities will share the details of the same in due course.
Former Premier of Nevis, Vance Amory, breathed his last on April 2, 2022 (Friday) in London, United Kingdom, during his cancer treatment.
Amory was popular among the general public and served Nevis as Premier for two terms in the office – between 1992 and 2006 and between 2013 and 2017. The leader also served as the Minister of Sports in the Nevis Island Administration (NIA). Vance Amory was behind the idea of the Concerned Citizens Movement, which was founded in 1987 as a political front.
