Embassy of Taiwan in St Vincent and the Grenadines donates sacks of agricultural products

Kingstown, St Vincent and the Grenadines: The Embassy of Taiwan in St Vincent and the Grenadines has donated around 3,000 sacks of fertilizers and spraying oils to the nation. The cost of the donation was as much as 554,253 Eastern Caribbean dollars. The donation was accepted by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Rural Transformation, Industry & Labour – Saboto Caesar, from Taiwanese Ambassador – Peter Lan.

While mentioning the donation and closure of the Banana Revitalization Project, the Taiwanese Embassy stated, “Amb. Peter Lan of the Republic of China (Taiwan) handed over 3,000 sacks of fertilizers as well as spraying oils and fungicides equivalent to EC $554,253.00 to Saboto Caesar, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries, Rural Transformation, Industry and Labour of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines under the Banana Revitalization Project on May 5, 2023.”

It added that the ceremony also marked the closure of the Banana Revitalization Project implemented by the Taiwan Technical Mission.

Furthermore, it informed that it is estimated that around 140 farmers will be benefitted, and many of them attended the ceremony. Amb Lan and Minister Caesar pledged to move forward the strong cooperation between Taiwan and SVG.

Taiwan regularly donates materials to the Caribbean nation of St Vincent and the Grenadines. Earlier, it appreciated its respectable friend SimplyHelp Foundation for making a contribution of another container of resources to St Vincent and the Grenadines on May 2, 2023.

As per the update, “Amb. Peter Lan handed over materials to Minister Orando Brewster, and both of them gave their appreciation to our respectable friend Simply Help Foundation.”

Accordingly, Simply Help Foundation is a non-profit charity organization located in Los Angeles, California and was founded by Taiwanese philanthropist Tina Bow.

The donation this time consists of scrubs, toys, clothes and hats etc., with a total estimated value of US $64,130, it mentioned.

It concluded that Brewster appreciated Simply Help Foundation for its continuous contribution over the years and praised the long-standing friendship between St Vincent and the Grenadines and Taiwan in his remarks.
