Barbados: A well-known doctor requests a proper Lockdown to restrict the expansion of coronavirus in Barbados. 31 years old, Doctor Adrian Lorde, the Barbados Defence Force(BDG) veteran, urged that Barbadians must take accountability for their lives.
They should safeguard themselves from this deadly coronavirus. He requested to impose at 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew, which came into action on Sunday.Covid-19 is still a threat to the world. People need to take accountability for their lives.
Doctor’s Message:
Doctor Adrian Lorde stated, “people are following the curfew, he never said that he didn’t want the tourists to come in, or the flights to come in. But now, look at what is happening. Barbadians need to see that seriously because they are here, and they got to get back out, but it is causing problems. Whether the new variant of coronavirus is here or not is not necessary to him. The point is that we Barbadians let our guard down,” he added.
He addressed people about how all the people celebrated Christmas, and he urged the population that we didn’t cancel Christmas. He added, “And still look what we were noticing now, hundreds of persons being tested positive, and there is so much more we can’t even count. He suspects there could be over 600, seemingly 700 cases in Barbados. he doesn’t know.”
Health ministers stated that, unfortunately, there are 275 cases,374 recoveries, and seven deaths. So Lockdown is must!
People’s Reaction:
Facebook Users commented on PM Mottley’s official account, “People forgot about the Bajans that were charged with curfew violations. Lockdown and mandatory mask like the PM said would put criminal records on the same people y’all trying to protect.”
Patricia Ifill commented, “Obey de rules and nobody will catch covid 19. Simple. What’s so hard about that? People too own way, don’t like obeying rules.”
On the other hand, Omar Watson wrote, “We can’t afford to shut down, so we will attempt to control the spread, hope it doesn’t get out of hand. If Bajans use common sense and follow the protocols, it is possible.”
