Dr. Denzil Douglas signs MoU with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar
Dr. S Jaishankar and Dr. Denzil Douglas held a meeting at Hyderabad House, Delhi. This meeting was aimed at strengthening the bilateral ties between both the nations.

New Delhi, India: Foreign Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Denzil Douglas, held a significant meeting today with Dr. S Jaishankar, India’s Minister of External Affairs.
Dr. S Jaishankar and Dr. Denzil Douglas held a meeting at Hyderabad House, Delhi. This meeting was aimed at strengthening the bilateral ties between both the nations.
This meeting had several positive developments one among which is signing of MoU between both the nations, aimed at cooperation on diverse sectors.
Sharing this update with the public, Indian Foreign Minister Dr S. Jaishankar posted on his official X account (formerly Twitter) stating that the meeting would be a delight to host and the discussions on the expansion of ties was conducted.
He further added, “Discussed expanding our partnership to digital, health, food security and capacity development.” Also, the ministers exchanged views on our convergences as Global South in the multilateral arena.
Indian Minister of External Affairs additionally announced that they also signed a MoU to further intensify our bilateral political consultations.
This visit by Dr. Douglas is historic as it is the first time that any Foreign Minister from St. Kitts and Nevis has visited India.
It is to be noted that India and St. Kitts and Nevis share a strong diplomatic bond, this was demonstrated during the time of COVID-19 Pandemic. When the developed nations had scarcity of vaccination, at that time India provided vaccine doses to St. Kitts and Nevis which helped the residents of the island nation to fight against the pandemic.
Earlier today, Dr. Douglas signed another MoU with India to enhance sports cooperation between both the countries. This MoU was formally signed between Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of the Republic of India and Dr. Denzil Douglas.
The MoU includes collaboration on Athlete and Team Training, Coach Training, and exchange programs.
Dr. Douglas during his six-day visit till August 9, will continue to meet several ministers from India and discuss the topics of mutual interest and sign several more collaborations that would highly benefit the island not only in the present moment, but in longer run.
