Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit to visit Cuba in the upcoming weeks to stronger the diplomatic ties between both the countries.

Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit to visit Cuba in the upcoming weeks to stronger the diplomatic ties between both the countries.
PM Skerrit, who also handles Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs, will pay a visit to Latin America from April 24 to April 27.
The Minister will hold interaction with Cuban authorities and will engage in other activities that will build strong ties between both countries.
The news was announced by the Cuban Foreign Ministry, the Government organization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba. The announcement read, “The Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Resilience, Economic Affairs, Investment, Planning, Sustainable Development, Telecommunications and Broadcasting of the Commonwealth of Dominica, will pay an official visit to Cuba from April 24 to 27.”
It further added, “The distinguished visitor will hold talks with Cuban authorities and carry out other activities.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Skerrit visited the Latin American country to attend the 3rd Ministerial Meeting between Cuba and the Caribbean Community. Back then, PM landed at the Jose Marti International Airport and was welcomed by Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra.
During his meeting, he met with the then-President of Cuba – Raul Castro.
PM Skerrit was accompanied by the Minister of National Security, Immigration and Labour, Charles Savarin, and the Minister of Informatics, Telecommunication and Citizen Power, Ambrose George.
The diplomatic links between both countries were established on May 18, 1996. Dominica and Cuba are members of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America, along with Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Ecuador, Nicaragua, St Vincent and the Grenadines, and Venezuela.
