Dominica: The Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce (DAIC) co-hosted as well as partnered in the National Dialogue to generate strong linkages between agricultural producers and buyers with WUSC Caribbean, the Government of Dominica and other local partners on November 9, 2022.

Our President, Brenton Hilaire, presented remarks at the opening and together with the event co-chair Executive Director Lizra Fabien and Chamber Members, they engaged actively throughout the dialogue.

Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce stated that from all attendees’ report, this dialogue was beneficial and only the start to more meaningful engagements in strengthening the linkage between agricultural producers and buyers. DAIC has taken keen note of the highlights from the discussion and key takeaways for The Chamber to support our members in leveraging the opportunities presented.

The team of DIAC also participated in the IMF Staff Visit to share insights on recent developments, business outlook, performance and main business challenges, and our Chamber and businesses’ efforts in building resilience, among other key topics.

On November 10, the team met with the IMF Staff to discuss these key matters and lay the foundation for high-level engagement in the coming months. President Brenton Hilaire, Director Robert Tonge, and Executive Director Lizra Fabien represented the DIAC team at the IMF Staff visit. DAIC Member HHV Whitchurch and Co. Ltd, represented by Kira Thompson-Aird and Patrick Fontaine, contributed to the richness of the discussion by bringing insights from their sub-sectors.

As a key partner in nation-building, Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce will continue to engage partners locally and internationally for the socio-economic advancement of Dominica and are pleased to represent our membership and private sector at all opportunities.
