Grenada: Prime Minister of Grenada, Dr. the Rt Hon. Keith Mitchell the future concerns about the threat of deadly coronavirus. He confesses his expression via his official account of Facebook.
PM Mitchell’s message:
PM Mitchell stated that “Concerning the enforcement of the COVID-19 protocols, we have to be tougher in this situation sense in the future, but we require everybody on board in dealing with this.”
Some persons and businesses are not fully implementing or complying with the recommended protocols. The compliance problem extended to several quarantine facilities where persons did not demonstrate the anticipated level of responsibility, forcing the Government in some instances to issue warnings.
This covid-19 pandemic is fluid, and therefore, we need to accommodate it frequently. As we advance, the critical thing is what we do when people get here, so we may have to re-examine the quarantine systems.
We may have to re-examine the question of testing after four days, and maybe we have to use a much more lengthened period before we give medical authorization.
In all of this, it is essential to remember that while Government has a responsibility to lead the fight against COVID-19, there must be compliance, and everyone must be on board fighting this dreaded disease.
A Facebook page wrote, “Some Grenadians just want to roam freely, not wear a mask and then blame the health authorities when positive cases pop up.”
Another user commented, “Come on, Mr prime minister – time to flex your muscle. You will get probed no concern what you do, so time to get very harsh about this. Strick quarantine measures, heavy fines for those who refuse to wear their mask, and fine those who break the rules. Covid-19 is serious and deadly, and you cannot afford to have too many Grenadians dying on your watch. So bite the bullet and get tough.”
