CARICOM in line to get vaccines from United States

United States would be giving more COVID-19 vaccine doses to CARICOM countries. Further information regarding this would be shared this evening during the speech of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson-Lee. At the same time, they would be talking about foreign issues. The meet would be hosted by Ambassador Audrey Marks.
According to the President of the Caribbean Development Bank, Dr Hyginus Leon, due to the issue of supply and cost the most of the Caribbean countries have been facing the problems of the vaccine shortage like Haiti had got its first vaccine shipment since the pandemic hit it. Dr Carissa Etienne reported that the US would be given.
While addressing a meeting Director of PAHO on July 1st 2021, Dr Carissa Etienne said that the doses that US would be giving 25 million doses out of which 6 million doses would be given to the 15 members of CARICOM.
Former Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, indicated in starting of this month that there had been one or two little hiccups regarding the delivery of the promised vaccine shipment from the United States.
All are waiting for the statement of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson -lee that when she would be sharing the information, including the stakeholders. So that the administration of the countries mainly from Caribbean region. So that more people in the region should be vaccinated.
Ambassador Marks would also be joining along with two powerful Jamaican tech titans. Guests would hear from Mr Kevin Reid, the former co-founder CEO and CTO of VirtuStream. The company has been acquired by EMC for $1.2 Billion, just seven years after he and his partner co-founded it. He has been currently the co-founder at Blue Lagoon Capital and an active contributor to his family charity which has focused on funding education and sports initiatives in Jamaica, among other ventures.
These two, along with Andrew Walker, convenor of the Jamooglers and Honorary Consul David Sangster, will round off the list of speakers.
