Accused Posh Corbeau appears in court, month after shooting youth in St Ann Village
Brandon Baptiste, aka ‘Posh’ and ‘Posh Corbeau’, 27 age 27-years-old, from St Ann’s Village at Mayaro, was arrested for the murder of Renaldo Heminez.

A month after a man was brutally shot to death at the St Ann village’s Road, the police finally managed to present the accused in front of the court. The man, named Brandon Baptiste, aka ‘Posh’ and ‘Posh Corbeau’, was charged with the murder of Renaldo Heminez.
As per reports, the victim, 20-year-old Heminez of Mayaro, was walking on a track south of St Ann village’s Road when he was approached by an armed man dressed in black. The man shot him and fled from the crime scene.
After hearing the sounds of shots fired, locals arrived at the scene at informed the police and the victim was taken to the hospital. However, Heminez succumbed to his injuries about 45 minutes later at the Mayaro health facility.
The investigation led by ASP Victor, Inspector Ramjag, W/Inspector Sylvester and Sergeant Ramsahai of the Homicide Bureau of Investigation (HBI) Region Two resulted in the arrest of Baptiste on January 17, 2024. However, 27-year-old Posh was charged with murder about five days later, on January 22, 2024. Notably, he was also charged with possessing an illegal firearm.
Additionally, such stances of the crimes are not new in the country. The nation records a rapid increase in the crime rate. People are experiencing such incidents on every alternative day. The problem of crime has been a serious problem across Trinidad and Tobago.
With the rising rate of crime, people are now asking authorities to take quicker action. Each day, numerous lives are lost in such heinous acts of crime and many instances, the criminals get away from their wrongdoings and continue to target people. From petty theft to robbery with violence, crime continues to be migraine to the government of the day. The authorities are suggested to take serious actions and implement strict actions towards the culprits.
