Jahzara Claxton led West Indies Team A to secure victory

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Jahzara Claxton, a 17-year-old girl, did wonders as she led Team West Indies A to a Series Win against Pakistan.

St Kitts-based cricketer, Jahzara Claxton, achieved a milestone by achieving a Most Valuable Player (MVP) title with a staggering performance.

Her exceptional bowling led to a historic win against Pakistan for the West Indies A team as she took four wickets in 6 overs by just giving 19 runs.

Claxton’s unwavering precision and determination on the pitch earned her an award of well-deserved Player of the Match. Alongside, Rashada Williams, who captained the West Indies A team secured a significant spot in the Match.

Meanwhile, she was awarded the Player of the Series title, and she represented her steady excellence throughout the action-packed series.

This outstanding victory arouses a sudden sense of great excitement for the T20 Tri-Series, which will showcase the powerhouse teams of West Indies and Pakistan.

They will be accompanied by the upcoming talent of the Thailand Women’s team. The Match will commence on November 3, 2023, at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium.

Jahzara Keanna Chloe Claxton, a 17-year-old girl, is a footballer and cricketer who emerges from the St Kitts and Nevis. She plays as a forward for Newtown United FC in football and the St Kitts and Nevis women’s national team.

The 17-year-old athlete plays as a left-handed batter and right-arm medium bowler for Leeward Island in the Cricket.

Claxton has also played for West Indies Under919s, and she became the first-ever female cricketer to be selected for the West Indies U19 squad from the Leeward Islands.

International career

In 2019, Claxton supported the St Kitts and Nevis U14 at the Caribbean Football Union Caribbean Challenge Series.

On August 9, 2019, 17-year-old Claxton scored five goals in 8-0 win against Dominica. The very next day, she spotted four goals in a 4-2 victory when she competed against Antigua and Barbuda U14. She scored 11 goals in the team’s three games as they concluded second in the group.

In September 2022, she was invited to a training camp for the West Indies Women’s under-19 cricket team and named to a provisional roaster.

She was counted as one of the 25 Most Remarkable Teens in December 2022 by the National Assembly of St Kitts and Nevis.
