20 individuals tested positive for COVID in Dominica
The Ministry of Health and Wellness released the COVID-19 update report of December 22, 2021; which states that in total, 20 individuals have tested positive for the virus.

Roseau, Dominica: The Ministry of Health and Wellness released the COVID-19 update report of December 22, 2021; which states that in total, 20 individuals have tested positive for the virus. With this, the total number of active cases has risen to 295.
Out of these new infections recorded, 18 people tested positive by Rapid Antigen Test, while the remaining two tested positive by RT-PCR testing.
As per the report, a total of eighteen COVID-19 patients have now recovered and were discharged from the hospital facilities on December 22, 2021. With this, the number of citizens who recovered from the deadliest mutant increased to 6219.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic emerged in Dominica, the island has reported a total of 6559 confirmed infections of the COVID-19 virus.
The data in the health ministry’s report furthermore adds that till December 22, 2021, in total, 122784 COVID-19 tests have been conducted by the hospital facilities.
While so far, 45 people scummed to COVID-19 in the island.
The COVID-19 vaccination statistics of Dominica:
A total of 30519 individuals are partially vaccinated (those who have atleast one jab of the COVID-19 vaccine), till December 22, 2021, according to the data in the report.
On the other hand, there are a total of 28157 Dominicans who have taken their required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines and are now fully immunised against the contagious mutant.
The Caribbean island has seen a significant decrease in the daily COVID-19 infections in the past few weeks.
Apart from this, Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit and the health ministry are continuously encouraging the general public of the island country to strictly abide by the government’s protocols and guidelines to assure the safety of themselves along with their loved ones.
Still, there is a vaccine hesitancy among the Dominicans, following which the government is urging the public to come forward and get themselves immunised as soon as possible.
