World is full of different cultures, and each of the culture is celebrated with the different beliefs and rituals. One of such rituals is still practices in China, where husbands have to carry pregnant wives over burning coal.

In this ritual when the woman conceives a child, the father of the child carries the mother over burning coal.

The tradition of letting the man walk over burning coal while carrying the mother of the child indicates:

  • It is being said that if the father to be attempts this ritual successfully then the mother of the child faces smooth and less painful labour and the process of pregnancy will be successful.
  • This culture is made to boost and enhance the respect and the love between partners.

This tradition beautifully showcases that it’s not just the mother who undergoes a pain but the father also had to go through a lot.

This ritual is a very unique and spiritual one that highlights and enlightens that how a father bears or share some of the pain that the pregnant women have to deal with.

Moreover, the unique culture of China also shows the unconditional love of the father to be for their child and towards the carrier of their child.

Burning Coal represents the challenges the couple had to go through:

This Chinese tradition also points at the complications and challenges that the couples face during the process of marriage. Marriage is moreover considered as one of the challenging rides but this ritual stands out as an example that the truth and love wins over any challenge which turns out even into firm wall.

It is also said that this ritual is also done by new husband and wife when they take their first steps into their new house while the others choose to do it when the wife is pregnant.

The husband or the father to be does this ritual barefoot which beautifully shows selfishness and commitment of the partner towards each other.

Furthermore, this unique culture also emphasized family interdependence and a great opportunity to build integration.

Thus, pregnancy is the most beautiful phase of any woman’s life and is something that most women look forward to. This journey of 9 months, which leads into a longer journey of caring for the child, is more beautiful when a caring and loving husband is a part of the process.
