Tropical Storm warning issued for Northern Bahamas

The Bahamas Meteorological Services has issued a tropical storm warning for the islands of the Northern Bahamas which include the areas including, Grand Bahama, The Abacos, and Bimini.
They have also issued a high alert, urging citizens to follow all precautionary measures, as Hurricane Milton has brought devastating rains and damaging winds inland over portions of Central Florida.
As per the details, at 11 pm, Hurricane Milton was located near latitude 27.6 degrees North and longitude 82.0 degrees West, and about 215 miles northwest of Freeport, Grand Bahama. Milton is moving toward the east-northeast near 16 MPH, and is expected to continue through Thursday.
According to the information shared by Bahamas Meteorological Services, the maximum sustained winds are near 105 MPH with higher gusts and the Milton is anticipated to hurricane intensity while crossing Florida overnight.
After moving into the Atlantic, Milton is expected to gradually lose tropical characteristics and has slowly weakened. The information shared by the authorities outlines that Hurricane-force winds have extended outwards up to 35 miles from the centre and Tropical-Storm-Force winds have extend outward up to 255 miles from the centre.
The Rain bands from Hurricane Milton have also begun to spiral across the Northern and Northwest Bahamas. The authorities noted that winds have also increased in the Northern Bahamas, with the Forecast Office at Freeport reporting gusts up to 41 mph.
Therefore, the residents on the islands including Bimini, Grand Bahama, and Abaco, have urged to follow all the stringent measures in order to prevent themselves from the destructive effects of Hurricane Milton.
The authorities have asked all the residents to exercise extreme caution while traversing these areas and have especially mentioned about the residents in the Northwest Bahamas which includes Andros, The Berry Islands, New Providence, and Eleuthera to pay close attention to all further alerts on Hurricane Milton as per issued by the Department of Meteorology.
