St Lucia: Prime Minister Philip J Pierre’s trip to Florida has commenced on April 5, 2022 (Tuesday). The PM is on a Business trip on behalf of the Government of St Lucia and, as per the schedule, left the Caribbean country on Tuesday.
PM Pierre’s business trip is to facilitate his attendance at the series of meeting in the south-easternmost US state.
“The Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J. Pierre, is scheduled to leave Saint Lucia on Tuesday, April 5, 2022. This government business trip is to facilitate his attendance at a series of meetings in Florida,” the Government of St Lucia mentioned.
As per the schedule, PM would leave the country and reach St Lucia on April 8, 2022 (Friday).
“Pierre is scheduled to return to Saint Lucia on Friday, April 8, 2022,” it further mentioned.
The Government has announced that the administration of the Caribbean country – St Lucia would be handled by Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hillarie. That means all responsibilities, workload, and duties will be followed by the Deputy PM for four (4) days, from April 5 to April 8, 2022.
“In his absence, Hon. Ernest Hilaire will act as the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia,” the Government further informed.
Earlier, Prime Minister Philip J Pierre presented the most extended budget in the history of St Lucia. While informing about the weekly doings, Deputy Prime Minister Hillarie stated, “It was an immaculate balance between ensuring the provision of economic and social support for so many sectors traditionally disadvantaged and worsened by the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring that stimulus is provided to the productive sectors to propel the post-COVID-19 recovery.
