St Kitts and Nevis General Elections 2022: Vote count commences, Eric Evelyn of CCM; Samal Duggins of SKNLP claims victory
St Kitts and Nevis: The twin-island Federation of St Kitts and Nevis witnessed the general election 2022 on August 5, 2022 (Friday), and the counting of the votes has commenced.

St Kitts and Nevis: The twin-island Federation of St Kitts and Nevis witnessed the general election 2022 on August 5, 2022 (Friday), and the counting of the votes has commenced. The general public and political leaders participated in the process, and thousands were gathered in polling booths to vote for their favourite candidates.
The results of two constituencies – #10 and #4, have been declared. Concerned Citizens Movement’s (CCM) Eric Evelyn has returned to the seat from Constituency #10.
Eric Evelyn bagged 616 votes out of 845 valid votes; on the other hand, Rohan Isles of Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) claimed 229 votes. The total number of registered votes in Constituency #10 was 1085, out of which 845 were valid.
On the same breadth, Samal Duggins of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) claimed a landslide victory with 1269 votes. Duggins was followed by Lindsey Grant, a member of the Peoples Action Movement (PAM), who won 761 votes. The total number of the registered vote was 3579, out of which 2343 were valid.
Results from other constituencies are still underway.
So far, the announced results are as follows:
- Geoffery Hanley of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) is leading in Constituency #1. Till now, 55 percent (451 votes) have been in favour of Hanley.
- Konris Maynard of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) is leading from Constituency #3. Till now, 64.8 percent (937 votes) have been cast in favour of Maynard.
- Shawn K Richards, leader of the People’s Action Movement (PAM), is leading from Constituency #5. Till now, 48.4 percent (708 votes) have been cast in favour of Richards.
- Dr Timothy Harris, leader of the People’s Labour Party (PLP) is leading from Constituency #7. Till now, 13.0 percent (501 votes) have been cast in favour of Harris.
- Premier of Nevis and leader of Concerned Citizens Movement Mark Brantley is leading from 54 percent (469 votes) from Constituency #9.
