Saint Lucia police investigates into shooting at Fond Assau

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force launched an investigation into a shooting incident that occurred at Fond Assau, Babonneau. It is to be noted that the incident took place on Thursday, 11th January 2024, at around 8:55 pm.
According to the information, the police authorities of the Babonneau Police Station received the news and they immediately responded to the matter by visiting the crime spot.
As soon as the officers arrived at the spot, they found the dead body of a man with apparent gunshot injuries to his body. The emergency medical technicians of the Saint Lucia Fire Services observed the unresponsive male. He was subsequently taken to the Owen King European Union (OKEU) Hospital.
On reaching the hospital, he was examined thoroughly by the doctors on duty, where the victim was pronounced dead by a medical practitioner because the victim succumbed to the injuries created by a gunshot.
It is to be noted that the victim has been identified as 23-year-old Dante St. Ange, a resident of Girard Cacao, Babonneau. The information about the criminal is still not known.
The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force has requested the citizens of the island nation to share the information with them if they have any regarding the incident. For the same, the authorities have shared contact numbers as well.
The residents may either contact the Babonneau Police Station at 456-4120 or they can contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 456-3770. The authorities have also stated that citizens with any information can contact the Crime Hotline number by dialling 555 or by utilizing the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force Crime Hotline Application.
The authorities have promised that they will keep the identity of the informer anonymous in order to prioritize the safety and security of the individual.
Moreover, the authorities of the island nation have promised that they will take all the required measures to get the criminal arrested for his/her offence. They have assured that they will try their best to curb the crime rates.
