Saint Lucia: The Charitable Organisation HelpAWS of the island nation has recently appealed to the people living in Canada and the United States of America to volunteer and assist them in completing their mission.
“There’s a saying, “It takes a village”. This couldn’t be more true, especially regarding animal advocacy and rescue! HelpAWS relies heavily on an “amazing” group of volunteers in Canada and the US, who selflessly devote time in various essential roles to assist us with our mission,” the organisation stated via a social media post.

According to the post by HelpAWS, they are currently looking to fill several volunteer Adoption and Foster Counsellor positions. These crucial roles are the heart of the organisation, responsible for screening, interviewing, and thoroughly vetting adoption and fostering applicants to ensure each rescued animal ends up in a safe, loving, positive living environment upon leaving the shelter.
In addition to interviewing prospective adopters and fosters, our volunteer Adoption and Foster Counsellors are also responsible for monitoring group foster/adoption chats daily and updating the HelpAWS database accordingly, among other tasks, the organisation explained.

Furthermore, it mentioned that the Adoption and Foster Counsellor volunteer roles require a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week. However, the position is self-monitored in that the duties and responsibilities can be coordinated around your work and life schedule as long as tasks and responsibilities are getting done within the required timeline.
