Saint Lucia: Athletic scholarship recipients awarded laptops

Saint Lucia: Seven (7) students formerly from the Choiseul Secondary schools and Vieux Fort Comprehensive will be the recipients of new laptops provided by the Ministry of Education to assist their studies in Jamaica.

The seven students, who attained athletics scholarships, were rewarded a laptop each, an item that remains essential for studies in this modern era.

Parliamentary Secretary in the Department of Education, Innovation and Vocational Training, Dr Pauline Antoine-Prospere, said the laptop donation is a reward for the students’ tremendous efforts at the secondary level and successful applications to the tertiary-level institution.

Dr Antoine Prospere is certain the students will make Saint Lucia proud, especially with the notable achievements of Saint Lucians at the just concluded Commonwealth Championships.

The students, accompanied by their parents, were each presented with devices that had been fully activated with the necessary software to aid their studies.

Student, Jada Emmanuel, thanked the department on behalf of her fellow recipients, pledging to make full use of the devices. Other recipients include Vanni Henry, Keithan Monero, Genevieve John, Deshawn Fanis, Jaheim Ferdinand and Lester Emmanuel.
