PM Harris praises people of St Kitts and Nevis for active participation in vaccination drive

St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of the twin-island Federation – Dr Timothy Harris, congratulated and paid tribute to the residents of the Caribbean country for their active participation and effective management of the global pandemic COVID-19.

PM Harris took social media and said, “I pay tribute to the people of St Kitts and Nevis who have been key in helping us to manage #COVID19 as well as we have.”

Prime Minister Harris has praised the people and government of St Kitts and Nevis for achieving 77.9 percent of the fully vaccination rates amongst the adult population. That states that around 26,429 people have received both jabs of the vaccine against COVID-19 infection.

“With 77.9% vaccination rates amongst the adult population, this equates to a total of 26,429 people being fully vaccinated.

The Ministry of Health has announced that the twin-island Federation has administered 57,791 doses to people of the country. 77.9% of the total adult population received a second dose of the vaccine against the viral infection of the novel coronavirus,” Prime Minister’s post read.

As per the data shared by the health ministry of St Kitts and Nevis, as of April 6, 2022, the total number of doses administrated in the twin-island Federation is around 58,143. Out of the total, 44,194 doses have been administrated in St Kitts, and Nevins has received about 13,949 doses. The total number of booster doses is 3,230.

As per the latest data shared on April 7, 2022 (Thursday), the confirmed case reported in the last 24 hours is one (1), taking the total number of confirmed cases to 5,552; out of these, 4,707 were reported in St Kitts, and 845 cases were from Nevis.

Total active cases reported are at three (3). Out of these, two (2) are in St Kitts, and Nevis reported around one (1) case.

As per their reports, there are no additional fatalities, with a total of 43 people have sadly lost their lives due to COVID-19 since the pandemic emerged in the country. 36 people died in St Kitts and 7 in Nevis.
