Dominica: On March 1, 2021, the flying of drone over a resident of Prime Minister Of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, has been a hot topic in the nation.

However, the flying of drones over a resident of PM Skerrit is still being investigated. The government of Dominica is to enforce stringent regulations and restrictions on types of equipment like drones which have the potential to violate someone’s privacy and national security of the country.

PM Skerrit stated, “It is strange how a sensible person can fly a drone over a resident of the head of state, police official, governmental residential or any prominent leader is not sensible at all.”

Furthermore, PM Skerrit added, “the government is going to pass some stringent and clear rules that are be done in very quick time.”

What Drone can do ?

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit stated that Drones could carry poison, bombs during times of man war, and in Afganistan, drones have been used to transfer bombs during wars. Nonetheless, In Washington DC, there is no flying zone; this is an international practice; an individual is not allowed to fly these types of equipment over governmental or official residential areas.

PM Skerrit warned Dominicans. He condemned the act of the opposition leader (United Workers Party), Lennox Linton, in his weekly show of Annou Pale.

PM Skerrit stated the person (Lennox Linton) who aspires to be the nation’s leader doesn’t know about confidentiality. The lack of leadership in Linton is unfortunate, and the people who are his supporter and breaks the law for him are also unfortunate.” “It is a dangerous practice,” PM Skerrit added.

The other Opposition has engaged themselves in political demonstrations on national issues, not in violation of the law—the invasion in privacy is a violation of Human rights as well as democracy. Flying drones on anybody’s homes without that individual’s permission is not appropriate, and there should be laws that can restrict these kinds of actions.

A resident of Dominica said, “I can’t see anybody flying a drone over prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s residential home in Montreal, Canada. That’s a serious matter.”

While indicating to Lennox Linton, PM Skerrit stated,” Today, my rights have been violated; tomorrow, what happens when it’s you?”
