The Department of Youth Empowerment of St Kitts and Nevis marked the celebration of the Youth Month 2024 on 22nd October, 2024. The celebration will be conducted with a vision to prioritize the young individuals and acknowledge their talent, achievements, and contributions in diverse fields.
The Youth Month 2024 in St Kitts and Nevis will be celebrated under the theme “Mental Health matters for Youth Development and Sustainability.” This theme emphasises on fostering mental health well-being among the young individuals of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis.
While shedding light on the celebration, the authorities stated that this Youth Month 2024 is a reminder as well as a great opportunity for all the brilliant and young minds to be and bring the change which could lead the nation towards growth and development.
The Department of Youth Empowerment of the island nation described the young individuals, the future of the nation. They emphasised on improving the mental health-well-being among the youth and called it necessary for creating a foundation for resilient and sustainable society.
They added that this celebration is their commitment and dedication towards addressing all the challenges being faced by the young people, including depression and mental ill health.
The Department of Youth Empowerment noted that this mental ill health can lead to cause several problems like drug abuse, crime and many more. Therefore, such celebration by the authorities sheds light on their commitment to improving the overall well-being of all the citizens, especially the young individuals who are the agents for bringing a change in society.
They stated that this celebration would not only enhance the well-being of an individual but will also contribute to building a sustainable future in St Kitts and Nevis.

- 22nd October: High School Cook Off, Secondary School Grounds (9am – 1pm)
- 27th October: Church Service, Antioch Baptiste, Basseterre (9am – 11am)
- 1st November: Art Exhibition, 3rd Floor, Cable Building (6pm – 8pm)
- 12th November: High School Chef Competition, Marriott Dome (10am – 1pm)
- 14th November: Minister’s Forum, Marriott Resort (9am – 3pm)
- 16th November: Pajamas Talks, Lodge Community Centre (6pm – 7am)
- 20th November: Star Boy and Star Girl, All Schools (8am)
- 28th November: Youth Service Reception, Royal St Kitts (7pm)
- 7th December: Youth Christmas Tree Wishes – Deadline (4pm)
