Trinidad and Tobago: Vaccine procurement from India and China left UNC speechless; however, UNC took all the credit for making “tirelessly efforts” over securing vaccines for the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
The fuss over procurement of vaccines in Trinidad and Tobago was a conflict that was a hot topic in the nation.
Securing vaccines became a clash between the opposition (UNC) and the current government (Rowley Regime), which is entirely evident.
An official statement from the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago to India’s prime minister, the Government of India, has officially informed Trinidad and Tobago’s administration that 40,000 jabs of WHO-approved Oxford Astra-Zeneca vaccines have now been confirmed for donation to Trinidad and Tobago.
On the other hand, residents think the exact opposite of what UNC is claiming. A resident, Joan Harrison, stated, “This is what can be described as strong leadership, leadership with a clear vision. Others may try and have tried to commander this PM but without success. He has a vision for the COVID-19 battle. He followed his mission along with his experts to overcome the scourge. The naysayers will continue their rhetoric, but that may be compared to water on an alligator’s back.”
Whatever the reason for obtaining vaccines in the nation, it will benefit only and only people of Trinidad and Tobago. It can help people in the battle of coronavirus pandemic.
Moreover, the People’s Republic of China has offered 100,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to the Government of Trinidad and Tobago to support and safeguard the health of the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
Trinidad and Tobago’s administration has graciously accepted this generous gift of the Sinopharm vaccine as we anxiously await WHO approval.
Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has extended his sincerest appreciation and gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping for their generosity to the people of Trinidad and Tobago. All relevant management are being made for the consignment of the vaccines to Port of Spain.
