Trinidad and Tobago: Paul assures medal at Boxing Association World Championships 2021
Nigel Paul – Trinidad and Tobago boxer has atleast assured his bronze medal after winning his – super heavyweight +92kg quarterfinal bout at the International Boxing Association World Championships 2021 o0n Tuesday.

Trinidad and Tobago: Nigel Paul – Trinidad and Tobago boxer has atleast assured his bronze medal after winning his – super heavyweight +92kg quarterfinal bout at the International Boxing Association World Championships 2021 o0n Tuesday.
The championship is taking place in Belgrade, Serbia. Paul had a solid performance in the second round against Berat Acar of Turkey and even a more impressive showing in the third & final round to win the – match 4-1. Four out of the 5 judges gave Paul the win by 29-28.
Paul will not return home without a medal as in the competition; both losing semifinalists will get a bronze medal. There is no third-place bout.
The Trinidad and Tobago based boxer will enter the ring again in the semifinals on Thursday.
While wishing Paul luck, Trinidad and Tobago government cited that, “We wish him every bit of good fortune in what we hope is his two upcoming bouts! Godspeed, Nigel”.
Nigel Paul was born 27 June in the year 1989 is a super heavyweight boxer. In the year 2015, he won the Trinidad & Tobago National Novice Championships and became 7th at the AMBC American Confederation Boxing Championships.
In the year 2016, he became second at the American Qualification Event for the – 2016 Olympic Summer Games and qualified for the Olympic boxing tournament. Paul was beaten by a Nigerian boxer – Efe Ajagba at the Olympic boxing tournament on 13 August at the Rio games. Ajagba won the bout with a seven-second knockout of Paul.
In the year 2021, he competed at the – World Championships, where he became the first boxer from his nation to win a world medal.
