Trinidad and Tobago have recorded 198 new positive cases of the COVID-19 mutant on 16 October 2021, according to the report of the Health Ministry.

Trinidad and Tobago: Trinidad and Tobago have recorded 198 new positive cases of the COVID-19 mutant on 16 October 2021, according to the report of the Health Ministry.
With the arrival of these cases, the active number of coronavirus infections increase to 4,309. In contrast, a total of 47,895 individuals have been recovered from the deadly COVID-19 mutant.
In total, around 276 people are in the hospital. The Health Ministry of Trinidad and Tobago further informed in the report that a total of 9 new deaths have been recorded, taking the total death rate to 1,593 on the Caribbean island as of 16 October 2021.
As per the Health Ministry’s report, there are a total of 48 patients in the step-down facilities, about 54 individuals are in the state-quarantine facilities.
A total of 3787 individuals have isolated themselves at their homes following the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the data shared in the health ministry’s report of T&T.
According to the COVID-19 update report, since the deadliest pandemic started, the Caribbean island has reported a total of 53,887 confirmed cases of the virus.
If we look at the statistics of COVID-19 testing, a total of 373,742 individuals have been tested for the novel coronavirus, out of which a total of 161,220 individuals have been tested at private facilities, whereas the remaining tests were conducted at public healthcare facilities.
As of 15 October 2021, in Trinidad and Tobago, a total of 609,136 individuals have received their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, whereas, in total, 564,703 individuals have welcomed their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and now are fully vaccinated against the deadly COVID-19.
