Travis Evans pleaded guilty to the charge of murder in Guyana

Travis Evans, also known as “Short Boss”, has pleaded guilty to the charge of killing legal clerk Gregory Frank, before Demerara High Court, Judge Jo Ann Barlow on Thursday, 9 November 2023.

The confession was made by Short Boss himself in which he admitted that he murdered 46-year-old Gregory Frank between 31 July and 2 August 2018 at Kuru Kururu, Soesdyke- Linden Highway, during the course of a robbery.

Travis Evans will be presented in court on 28 November 2023 for his sentence term.

The report will also be declared, which will share the details of probation.

As per reports, the officials found that the dead body was lying in the victim’s home, Linden-Soesdyke Highway in Kuru Kururu, with wounds on his head.

Frank’s body was discovered in the living room of his one-bedroom flat and he had  a swollen head as well.

The victim’s entire house was ransacked and a few of the valuable possessions were missing from his home.

According to the autopsy report, Frank died from asphyxiation cause by pressure on his neck, the issue was worsened by the blunt trauma to his head.

Justice Sandil Kissoon sentenced Evans to life imprisonment, under the charge of killing Ronsley Clarke, 21 years, outside of a ‘C’ Field, Sophia, Georgetown shop on 2 August 2018.

Travis Evans was initially charged with the offence of murder but Evans pleaded guilty to the charge of manslaughter, hoping to reduce the length of his prison sentence.

Evans killed Clarke while he was at a party. Clarke was a resident of Timehri, East Bank Demerara and Evans got involved in a dispute with him.

Evans also confessed that he carried out an armed robbery involving a woman ten years ago and he was also accused of raping her, due to which he was given a three years prison sentence in 2021.

Evans robbed Marlyn Kissoon and took $650,500 from her, on 30 October 2010 in the county of Demerara.
