Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, has extended invitation to all the citizens of the country to unite in giving a grand welcome to the first-ever gold medallist of the nation, Thea Lafond Gadson.
Recently, Thea Lafond registered history by claiming the first-ever Olympic Gold medal in the Women’s Triple Jump at the Paris Olympics 2024. She represented the best jump of 15.02 meters for 2024 to win the medal for her nation.
In keeping with Roosevelt Skerrit’s promise to give Thea Lafond Gadson a warm welcome, he and the entire nation are all set to celebrate her achievement. For the same, he has invited everyone to share in this momentous occasion, uniting as one to celebrate the pride of Dominica.
The celebration will take place on Sunday, 25th August, starting with a Motorcade at Borough’s Square from Portsmouth to Roseau, effective at 1:30 PM. After that, the celebratory rally will be held at Windsor Park Sports Stadium Forecourt at 5:00 PM.
“Please join us as we celebrate the historic achievement of Olympic Champion Thea Lafond-Gadson,” noted PM Roosevelt Skerrit.
