Taiwan donates medical equipment to Belize

Belize: Ministry of Health & Wellness received a donation of Medical Equipment from the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) on April 29, 2021 at 1:30 p.m.
Hon. Michel Chebat, Minister of Health & Wellness, and H.E. David Kuan-Chou Chien, Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Belize, met today in Belmopan for a handing over of medical equipment.
The donation includes 90 wheelchairs, 148 steel commodes, 108 aluminium walkers, 240 aluminium sticks, 300 foldable aluminium sticks, 180 crutches, 120 quad canes, 100 blind sticks, and 60 elbow crutches. This amounts to a total of 1,346 items along with 3,000 isolation gowns donated to the Ministry of Health & Wellness.
Minister Chebat and H.E. Chien were joined by Dr Deysi Mendez, CEO of the Ministry, and other representatives of the Ministry of Health & Wellness to discuss further collaboration with Taiwan.
The Government of-the Republic of China-(Taiwan) is an indispensable partner in the global fight against COVID-19 and the post-pandemic recovery. Belize supports Taiwan’s inclusion in the meetings, mechanisms, and activities in the World Health Organization and the World Health Assembly.
The Ministry of Health & Wellness extends its gratitude to the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) for their continuous support and dedication in the public health field.
