St Lucia: PM Pierre to table the Appropriations Bill 2022-23 in House of Assembly on April 26

Castries: The Prime Minister of St Lucia and Minister for Finance, Economic Development, and the Youth Economy, Philip J. Pierre, will table the Appropriations Bill 2022/23 in the House of Assembly on April 26, 2022 (Tuesday).
Pierre will also present his first Budget Address as the Prime Minister during this sitting. The highly anticipated budget address will be aired at 5:00 p.m. on the National Television Network (NTN), the Government of Saint Lucia’s social media pages, and radio via Rhythm FM 95.5.
The debate on the Appropriations Bill will begin on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. As is customary, the Leader of the Opposition is expected to open the day’s debate and be allowed the latitude of time to respond to the Prime Minister’s address.
The debate on the Appropriations Bill is expected to run until Friday, April 29, 2022. The public has been encouraged and invited to tune in to the three (3) day proceedings where the Government will detail its plans to transform the economy and empower its citizens during these volatile economic times.
A Formal House of Assembly Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. to tabulate the Appropriation Bill 2022/2023 and the Delivery of the Prime Minister’s Budget Address.
The Debate on the Appropriation Bill would be followed on April 28, 2022 (Thursday), at 9:00 a.m. and on April 29, 2022 (Friday), at 9:00 a.m.
Recently, PM Pierre was in Barbados along with other CARICOM Heads of Government at a meeting co-chaired by Prime Minister Mia Mottley and Congresswoman Maxine Waters, the Chairwoman of the United States of America’s House Committee on Financial Services.
The prime focus of the meeting was “De-Risking and Correspondent Banking in the Caribbean Region”.
