St Kitts and Nevis welcomes five vessels including inaugural call of Mein Schiff I

The Port Zante of St Kitts and Nevis was abuzz with excitement and celebration with the arrival of five vessels. The ships docked at the shores of the island nation on Tuesday, 5th November 2024, bringing thousands of passengers to the country.

Among the five vessels welcomed to the island nation, the Mein Schiff I made its inaugural call to the country’s shores, marking a significant milestone. As per the details, St Kitts and Nevis had hosted a previous vessel under the name Mein Schiff I.

However, this newly-named Mein Schiff represents a big and developmental change in its designs. Along with that, this vessel ensures to provide plethora of experiences to all their passengers with their diverse amenities and sustainable technology for the fleet.

The maiden call of the Mein Schiff I was celebrated with the plaque exchange ceremony in order to give a memorable welcome to the passengers boarding the inaugural visit of the vessel.

The Minister of Tourism of St Kitts and Nevis, Marsha Henderson led a local delegation of tourism officials on board the ship and extended welcome to all the passengers and the crew members. She exchanged significant dialogues with the delegates and aimed at enhancing partnership between the cruise line and St Kitts and Nevis.

Minister Henderson stated that they are excited to welcome the enhanced Mein Schiff I and its passengers. She added that this new vessel is not just a luxury liner but also aligns with their commitment of making St Kitts and Nevis, a sustainable destination place. She added that the vessel is made with cutting-edge environmental technologies that meet their high standards in eco-conscious cruising.

In addition, Aida Perla and the world’s largest cruise ship, Icon of the Seas, were also among those docked at the shores of the country on the same day.

Moreover, the authorities also welcomed Star Pride, which visited the waters of Basseterre. Meanwhile, Seabourn Quest was docked at Carambola on the Southeast Peninsula.

This day marked the first five-ship cruise day of the 2024-2025 season. This occasion outlines the growing popularity of the destination among the visitors. Along with that, it also sheds light on the capability of the authorities to accommodate large numbers of cruise visitors.

The authorities added that they are committed to bring a large number of visitors to the shores of the country to indulge them in the rich cultural heritage of St Kitts and Nevis. Notably, the Cruise Season 2024-25 opened in St Kitts and Nevis with the arrival of the Icon of the Seas on 8th October, 2024.

Also, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew shed light on his commitment to welcome over 1 million cruise passengers to the shores of the country for 2024-2025 cruise season.

The Tourism Minister, Marsha Henderson also shed light on her commitment to make St Kitts and Nevis, a top-tier cruise destination. She added that they are committed to deliver unforgettable and authentic experiences to all the passengers.
