SKN Foreign Minister Denzil Douglas attends awards ceremony at Charleston Edwards Memorial Consumer Affair Department Primary School
Dr Denzil Llewellyn Douglas, shared a glimpse of his participation in the award ceremony of the Charleston Edwards Memorial Consumer Affair Department Primary School.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: The Foreign Affair Minister and former Prime Minister of the twin-island Federation of St Kitts and Nevis – Dr Denzil Llewellyn Douglas, shared a glimpse of his participation in the award ceremony of the Charleston Edwards Memorial Consumer Affair Department Primary School on March 16, 2023.
Dr Douglas shared an update regarding the event and informed the general public that “all the Primary Schools/Students that participated in the Charleston Edwards Memorial Consumer Affairs Department Primary School Quiz were awarded Participation Trophies and Prizes on the Final Night of the Event.”
The update by the minister informed that on the night of the finale, Wednesday 15th March, there were five (5) Primary Schools that competed, and the list of those is as follows:
- Irish Town Primary won the competition and became CHAMPION with 115 points
- Seventh Day Adventist stood as 1st Runner Up with 110 points
- Saddlers Primary was 2nd Runner Up with 105 points
- George Moody Jr. scored 100 points
- Beach Allen. won 90 points
The update also stated about eight (8) other participating primary schools. The list of participants is as follows:
- Tucker Clarke,
- Bronte Welsh,
- Dr William Connor,
- Cayon Primary,
- Deane Glasford,
- St. Paul’s,
- Newton Ground,
- Maurice Hillier,
- Dieppe Bay.
The award ceremony was a bit special for Vanterpool, a student of the Irish Town Primary School, as he was awarded Most Outstanding Student. As per the update by the Foreign Affairs Minister, Denzil Douglas, “MOST OUTSTANDING STUDENT: Mr Vanterpool of the Irish Town Primary School.”
While concluding the social media post, Dr Douglas congratulated every participant and organisers. He noted, “CONGRATULATIONS To All Students, Teachers, Staff, Parents, Judges and All who made the Event a Success.”
Wishes and Congratulations were also poured on participants and organisations by the residents and citizens of St Kitts and Nevis.
One wrote, “Congratulations to all who participated and the top winners. I am especially pleased that everyone walked away with something tangible. It’s about time students and teachers participate for absolutely nothing after investing so much time, resources and energy. Kudos to the organisers.” While another mentioned, “Congratulations to all.”
