Saint Lucia secures 2024 ECVA Women’s Volleyball Championship title defeating Bermuda

Saint Lucia captured yet another regional title of “2024 ECVA Women’s Volleyball Championship,” by defeating Bermuda with a thrilling victory by the score 3-0. The final was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 22^nd October, 2024 at YMCA Sports Complex, St John’s in Antigua and Barbuda.

The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports of Saint Lucia called it a “sweet revenge” by the women’s team after getting defeated by the Bermudians in the preliminary round by 3-2.

However, it was time for Saint Lucians to play for the ultimate title and they left no stone unturned as they defeated Bermuda with 3-0. The set scores include, 25-10, 25-22, 25-19.

Saint Lucia and Bermuda were followed by Grenada as they defeated Antigua and Barbuda with the impressive scores, 3-1 to claim bronze medal.

The Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Tournament is the prestigious regional competition which was held between six nations. The nations that participated in the tournament includes, Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Anguilla, Bermuda, Sint Maarten and Saint Lucia.

After this remarkable victory, Saint Lucia senior women’s team is all set to arrive back to their island nation today, 24^th October, 2024 at the George F.L. Charles airport.

The organizers of the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association took to their social media accounts and congratulated the winning teams. The authorities lauded the winners for giving their sweat and blood to the game.

They praised the team and outlined the demonstrating true skill and unwavering determination showcased by each participant throughout the tournament.

The authorities added that with the wrap up of this exciting chapter of 2024 ECVA Women’s Volleyball Championship, they are continuing with the action of Men’s tournament.

As per the details, the ECVA Men’s Indoor Volleyball Championships has kicked off yesterday, 23^rd October, 2024. This tournament will be conducted between 10 teams, aiming to win the ultimate title of the Championship. These teams are divided in two pools, A and B with 5 nations in each group.

The teams that will be competing in the tournament includes, Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Sint Eustatius in Pool A. Meanwhile, the nations included in Pool B are, Saint Lucia, Sint Maarten, Dominica, Anguilla and SABA.

This tournament will also be held from 23^rd October to 28^th October, 2024 at the same venue, i.e. YMCA Sports Complex, St John’s in Antigua and Barbuda.
