Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force shared changes to flow of Traffic amid Carnival celebrations
The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) Traffic Branch would like to inform motorists and the general public of the following diversions to vehicular traffic flow during Carnival Monday and Tuesday

Kingstown, St Vincent and the Grenadines: The Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) Traffic Branch would like to inform motorists and the general public of the following diversions to vehicular traffic flow during Carnival Monday and Tuesday, July 10 and 11, 2023, according to the latest update by the Royal Police Force of the country.
According to the RSVGPF, Motor vehicles travelling from the Windward side of the island into Kingstown are asked to:
• Travel along the Richmond Hill Public Road onto James Street, then,
• Right onto Middle Street. Turn left onto Hillsborough Street in the vicinity of Central Police Station;
• Turn right onto the road between the Cenotaph and the Vegetable Market, then right onto Bedford Street.
• Take a left into Middle Street, turn right onto Queen Street then,
• Left onto Edinboro Road, turning right into Kingstown Cemetery Road,
• Exit at the junction of Cyrus Street and Nelson Mandela, then turn left onto the Nelson Mandela Highway.
B From Cane Garden into Kingstown:
Motor vehicles travelling from Cane Garden exiting at Long Lane Upper and wanting to get into Kingstown or to the Leeward side will travel along:-
• Sharps Street onto Middle Street in the area of Sutherland Shop.
• Continue along Middle Street. Turn left onto Hillsborough Street in the vicinity of Central Police Station;
• Turn right onto the road between the Cenotaph and the Vegetable Market, then right onto Bedford Street.
• Take a left into Middle Street, turn right onto Queen Street then,
• Left onto Edinboro Road, turning right into Kingstown Cemetery Road,
• Exit at the junction of Cyrus Street and Nelson Mandela, then turn left onto the Nelson Mandela Highway.
C Vehicles from the leeward Side:
Motor vehicles travelling from the Leeward Side will turn left at Stoney Grounds Road, travel along Stoney Grounds Road, then –
• Right onto North River Road, and left onto Fernside, then
• Left onto Paul’s Avenue Road, then right onto Level Gardens Road.
• Turn left at the Girl Guides Headquarters, proceed towards the gym at Mckie’s Hill, exit at the Judges Bridge, and then turn left onto Richmond Hill Public Road.
Motorists are also asked to take note of the motor vehicle parking arrangements in Kingstown during the festivities:
• During the Carnival Parade, motor vehicles from the windward Side will park at the Grammar School Playing Field.
• Motor vehicles from the leeward Side will park at the Anglican Car Park at Fernside.
• Omnibuses on the leeward Side will turn at the Caribbean Imaging Centre in Stoney Grounds after offloading passengers.
• Omnibuses from the windward Side will turn at the Thomas Saunders School and disembark passengers in the vicinity of the Peace Memorial Hall area.
The Police Force further outlined that only emergency vehicles and residents of Edinboro and surrounding areas travelling along the Nelson Mandela Highway will be permitted to travel toward the direction of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
Police and Traffic Wardens will be placed at strategic points to regulate and give directions as to the flow of traffic. Police Concrete Slabs will also be placed at various junctions.
Motorists and members of the general public are strongly advised to adhere to the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act.
