PM Terrance Drew meets Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, strengthens relations
Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew held significant discussions with Adel Al Jubeir, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the sidelines of the 46th Regular Meeting of the CARICOM Heads Conference.

Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew held significant discussions with Adel Al Jubeir, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the sidelines of the 46th Regular Meeting of the CARICOM Heads Conference.
The dignitaries of St Kitts and Nevis and Saudi Arabia exchanged dialogues on several important topics with the vision of enhancing the development of the nation.
PM Terrance Drew extended gratitude to the administration of Saudi Arabia for their collaboration in ensuring the country is a climate-resilient and sustainable nation.
“Saint Kitts and Nevis is grateful for the partnership with Saudi Arabia toward the transformation of our energy sector in the name of climate resilience, sustainability, and economic transformation,” mentioned PM Terrance Drew.
The leader of the nation also mentioned about the scholarship granted to him for the students of the St Kitts and Nevis. This scholarship is a great opportunity for students to study in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Scholarships will be made available to the students later this year.
Moreover, the Prime Minister also held discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ghana, Shirley Botchwey. The discussions were held with the motive of strengthening the diplomatic relations between both nations.
While mentioning about the meeting, PM Terrance Drew noted “I met with the Honourable Shirley Botchwey, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ghana and the esteemed candidate for Commonwealth Secretary General, to deliberate on enhancing diplomatic ties between their nations.”
Notably, St Kitts and Nevis and Ghana signed the official agreement in June 1993 and since then they have maintained stronger diplomatic relations.
The Prime Minister also met with officials from the Partnership for Atlantic Cooperation with the aim of promoting cooperation and interaction on science and technology and sustainable economic development in a spirit of trust, mutual understanding, inclusivity and respect.
These meetings of the Prime Minister with the delegations of the other nations on the sidelines of the 46th CARICOM meeting emphasised his vision of enhancing political and diplomatic relations, ensuring stronger ties with other countries for the development of the nation.
PM Terrance Drew is recently attending the 46th regular meeting of the Heads of Government and Foreign Ministers (CARICOM) in Georgetown, Guyana. The meeting is being chaired by the President of Guyana, Dr Irfaan Ali. The meeting focuses on promoting nutritional security, regional transportation, ICC Men’s T20 and taking corrective measures in order to tackle the crisis in Haiti and many more topics, prioritizing the progress of various sectors in the CARICOM region.
