PM Gaston Browne receives two awards for his contribution to societal development

Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne, has been honoured with two prestigious awards by Heart Bible International University (HBIU) and Seminary, a historically Black institution based in Hartford, Connecticut.

HBIU is a faith-based academic institution in the United States which is known for cultivating leaders who shape the world. The Institution presented Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award and an Honorary Professor in Humanitarianism to PM Browne for his exceptional contribution towards the development of the people.

In a letter advising Prime Minister Gaston Browne about this recognition, Chancellor Professor Dr. Donnett Mcintosh and Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter Abraham credited him for his “longstanding dedication to significant causes and the advancement of his people.”

The Chancellor and Vice Chancellor also acknowledged PM Browne’s commitment towards excellence and a positive impact created by him through his leadership qualities. The authorities also mentioned in the letter that such qualities of the Prime Minister distinguished him as a worthy candidate for this esteemed nomination.

While shedding light on the contributions of the Prime Minister Browne, the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor mentioned in the letter that the leader’s humanitarian services to the community and Africa, his belief in the transformative power of education and his mission in empowering the next generation with his numerous scholarships make him a truly deserving recipient of these awards.

This information about Prime Minister Brown winning this award was unveiled by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda. The award was presented at the Heart Bible International University campus in Hartford on August 3 on their 2024 Graduation Ceremony.

On behalf of Prime Minister Gaston Browne, this award was taken by Glentis Thomas, a counsellor at the Permanent Mission of Antigua and Barbuda to the United Nations in New York. While receiving the award, he acknowledged PM Browne and stated that this award is truly a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of the leader towards betterment of the nation and the entire world.

He also addressed all the graduates and shed light on the achievements of the small-island nations. And, he asked all the graduates to always follow “think big” approach while keeping God at their side.

Thomas also asserted that acquiring tertiary education is definitely the best investment that one can make in oneself and all those graduates have done that exactly at this University. He stated that the high values and moral teachings the students have learnt here, will always provide them a sensible framework in which they can deem themselves worthy of success.

Moreover, this award received by Prime Minister Gaston Browne also reflects his exceptional leadership qualities and a positive approach towards the betterment of people.
