Dominica: Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has declared that there will be no restrictions over Christmas shopping eve in Dominica.
PM asserted that there would be no stipulation during Christmas shopping, but rules and regulation must be followed so that everybody will be safeguarded from COVID-19 pandemic.
“We will be having a nice Christmas in Dominica. All of us thought we would be on lockdown, even curfew for Christmas, that is not the case in the Commonwealth of Dominica, And I know there has been anxiety on whether there will be shopping day on Thursday, There will be the regular shopping day in Dominica on Thursday, there will be no limit in the hours of the shopping day” he added.
He affirmed that “We do not want to impose any restrictions on the citizens of Dominica that is not necessary at this time, And I must say that we in Dominica have been very cooperative in large measure.”
Protocols to Follow in this Christmas Eve
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit requested citizens to wear their masks and follow social distancing. Sanitisers must be utilized so that will support to repress the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
On the other hand parliament members and government plans strategies to fight back the impacts of COVID-19. The plan of action includes the business and tourism sector and airport construction. Excise tax’s exemption made citizens satisfied, and these amendments can positively impact the situations.
Besides, he insisted on celebrating this Christmas with love and proper precautions to stop coronavirus spread.
