St Vincent and the Grenadines: The most loved company ‘Coca Cola’ provided humanitarian assistance worth US$125,000 to St Vincent and the Grenadines in association with the Red Cross following the effusive volcanic eruptions from the La Soufriere.
The humanitarian aid endorsement involves thousands of cases of water and other beverages, rice, coffee, canned foods, hand sanitizer, generators, and personal protective equipment (PPE Kits), including KN95 masks.
Coca Cola bottling services in St Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada and Puerto Rico conducted this service assistance for administration by the local Red-Cross. Additional relief efforts by CC1 Companies and the Coca-Cola Puerto Rico-Bottler continue from this week.
Red-Cross Director of St Vincent and the Grenadines announced, “We are deeply grateful to many companies and partners who are encouraging us during the crisis. While their families are losing homes & businesses and are presented to hazardous environmental conditions, this outpouring of support and aid helps us to move progressive and emerge a stronger, more resilient St. Vincent.”
General-Manager of KOSCAB Coca-Cola- Andre Thomas, revealed that the company would continue to check the emergency requirements and provide an advertisement to St Vincent.
General Manager-Thomas further pronounced, “As communities that have witnessed the horrific-damage created by natural disasters, our hearts go out to the residents of St. Vincent and the Grenadines who are languishing in their lives because of the contemporary effusive volcanic eruptions.
Human Resource & Corporate Affairs -Director of CBTT Limited– Jillian Stephens-Borely, stated, “We are enthusiastic about helping the people of St. Vincent today and into the future, as we collectively channel on immediate assistance as well as long-term recovery of St. Vincent.
Many residents are living in public and private shelters. The effusive volcanic eruptions have also influenced the neighboring islands and countries. Roughly 20,000 inhabitants have been displaced and moved to safe places because of the reports from La Soufriere. The Island is already challenging a COVID-19 outbreak which has influenced the economy of St Vincent and Grenadines.
Various other nations are supporting this crucial time and have distributed relief supplies to St Vincent. The World Bank has bequeathed US$4.5 million on April 17 to St Vincent between the COVID-19 emergency.
