Trinidad and Tobago: The Ministry of Health, Trinidad and Tobago has shared certain tips that can help to quit smoking tobacco. Tobacco Control has been part of Trinidad and Tobago for years. As of 2005, it became a part of the WHO Framework Convention.
Considerably, nicotine therapy can aid in this activity. This involves items such as gum, patches, nasal spray, inhalers, or lozenges, as these contain less nicotine and will supply a low dose only.
No doubt, the therapy is an effective way to control smoking, but engaging in healthy hobbies like joining a gym, gardening, being part of community exercise groups, and many others would also have a positive impact on this.
Also, simple changes added to the routine including removing the reminders or items that can trigger the use of tobacco can lay a great change in its reduction. Also, it will promote health simply by introducing a minor change.
Moving ahead, where one feels like nothing is working, they can even reach out and ask for help to quit smoking. To provide help, officials have made health facilities available all across the nation. Completely free of cost Cessation Clinics have been opened for the same.
All the medical facilities required in the process of ending tobacco smoking will be availed at the Cessation Clinics. And the ones struggling to quit can seek help from the clinics. The services included in this will be individual counseling, behavioral therapy, pharmacotherapy, medical management and more..
Even a person named Ian Green gave a suggestion by adding, “ Since World No Tobacco Day is May 31, could the MoH conduct a massive No Smoking campaign throughout May with the involvement of the municipal corporations and Tobago House of Assembly.”
Such a demand evidently reveals the hopes and trust of the general public in the authorities.
