LIAT 2020 touches down in Grenada on its inaugural flight

Grenada welcomed the inaugural flight of LIAT 2020 on 21st September, 2024 at the Maurice Bishop International Airport. The arrival of LIAT 2020 marks a historic moment for the nation making easier options for the visitors and enhancing connectivity across the region.
The passengers presented in the inaugural flight were given a special welcome, including a water cannon salute upon landing in the island nation. They were offered with diverse amenities, offering an unforgettable journey to all the passengers aboard in the flight.
The LIAT delegation was led by Director of Maintenance and Engineering, Allan Alexander. During their visit to the Grenada, they were greeted by Minister for Tourism, the Creative Economy and Culture, Adrian Thomas; CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority, Petra Roach and CEO of the Grenada Airports Authority, Edgar Stephen, along with other dignitaries.
While shedding light on the arrival of the inaugural flight of LIAT 2020 to Grenada, the Government noted that the revitalization of this regional airline will play a huge role in enhancing connectivity and convenience throughout the Caribbean.
The Government further added that they are looking forward to more efficient travel between islands with the operation of LIAT 2020. They noted that it will later result in fostering the growth of the tourism industry and boosting economic opportunities across the region.
The Government of Grenada also extended best wishes to the airline and noted “We wish the airline every success as we continue to build stronger connections and enrich the travel experience within our region.”
The delegates of LIAT 2020 delegates expressed excitement on their inaugural flight to Grenada and stated that this visit marks the expansion of their connections across the Caribbean region.
The airline has also unveiled their expanded schedule to and from Grenada. As per the schedule, the flight 5L 300 will make its visit to Saint Lucia from Antigua, timings to be 10:00 am – 10:50 am. Following that, the flight will take off from Saint Lucia at 11:35 am, to get to their final destination, Grenada at 12:15 pm.
On the other hand, the Flight 303 will take off from Grenada for Saint Lucia between the timings 1:45 pm – 2:25 pm. And, the flight will take off from Saint Lucia at 3:10 pm for Antigua and Barbuda to reach the destination by 4:00 pm.
The addition of the LIAT 2020 routes to Grenada outlines a positive growth that can be witnessed in the coming months, resulting in creating huge boost to the tourism and economic sector of the country.
