Jamaicans are encouraged to unite against the increasing crime and violence

Jamaicans have been encouraged by the Minister of the State in the ministry of the Local Government and rural government that they should get united and stand against the increasing crime and violence in the country that has been threatening the nation’s civil liberties. Minister of State in the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Homer Davis stated.

Minister Davis, while delivering his message, said that the freedom that the citizens are now enjoying is the result of the struggles of the nation’s forefathers who fought for the country’s liberation. The message was given at Independence Church Service at Maldon Baptist Church in St. James on Sunday, August 1. He said that it has been necessary for the well-thinking Jamaicans to take the necessary steps to preserve the birthright.

Minister Davis stated that sometimes, as members of the community, the people see and know what they should and must do to make their environment safe. They need to take a serious step and say to themselves collectively enough is enough. He also said the citizens of the country to unite so that they can make Jamaica a prosperous nation. If the Jamaicans come together, they could be stronger. They could deliver and achieve so much.

Minister of State in the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, Homer Davis, said that he wanted them to all celebrate knowing very well that, as a nation, they had to show great resilience and focus, especially since the onset of the coronavirus COVID-19. They need to move towards celebrating their daily freedom as they move across their respective communities.

Bishop Pitkin said that only then there would be peaceful coexistence. They could make their brothers, sisters, and children safe and secure in their homes, in the streets and in the communities. They could build a stronger nation from within through their godliness, good deeds and social act.
