India and Nepal Prime Ministers jointly inaugurate Kurtha-Bijalpura Railway Section with e-plaque

New Delhi, India: The Kurtha-Bijalpura section of the Railway’s e-plaque was jointly unveiled by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda,” on Thursday. The Indian Railway cargo train from Bathnaha in Bihar to the Nepal Customs Yard was jointly flagged off by the two leaders.

The integrated checkpoints, constructed with assistance from India, were jointly inaugurated by PM Modi and PM Dahal at Rupaidiha in India and Nepalgunj in Nepal. The two also unveiled the integrated checkpoints at Sanauli in India and Bhairahawa in Nepal.

PM Modi and PM Dahal of Nepal launched the 400 KV cross-border transmission line between Gorakhpur and New Butwal substation. The Motihari-Amlekhgunj Oil Pipeline connects Nepal with India, and the two leaders officially broke ground on Phase II of the pipeline.

In the presence of PM Modi and PM Dahal, India and Nepal exchanged seven agreements on connectivity, infrastructural development, and interpersonal relations.

The Sushma Swaraji Institute for Foreign Service in India and the Institute of Foreign Affairs in Nepal exchanged memorandums of understanding. Exchange of a memorandum of understanding for constructing the ICP at Dodra Chandani between two parties. An exchange of the Lower Arun hydropower project’s project development agreement.

After the delegation-level discussions, the two leaders officially launched the initiatives. The discussion’s topic covered strengthening the connections between India and Nepal in the areas of the economy, energy, infrastructure, education, and interpersonal relations.

Arindam Bagchi, the spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, tweeted, “Delegation level talks headed by PMs Narendra Modi and CM Prachanda of Nepal have begun. On the agenda is strengthening our long-standing ties through improved connectivity in the fields of the economy, energy, infrastructure, education, and interpersonal relationships.”

“Deepening the bonds of friendship and cooperation,” MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted after PM Modi greeted “Prachanda” at the Hyderabad House. “As Nepal’s prime minister arrived at Hyderabad House for bilateral talks, PM Narendra Modi greeted him,” he added.

“The wreath was laid at Raj Ghat in New Delhi earlier in the day by Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, often known as “Prachanda.” He also left a note in Raj Ghat’s visitor’s book. At Raj Ghat, Nepal’s Prime Minister CM Prachanda paid a sad tribute to Mahatma Gandhi,” Ministry of External Affairs tweeted.

From May 31 to June 3, PM Dahal alias Prachanda, who took office in December of last year, will be in India on an official visit. He has been to India four times. ‘Prachanda’, the prime minister of Nepal, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday. Union Minister Meenakashi Lekhi welcomed him when he arrived.
