Haiti: President Jovenel Moïse announced that Dichiti becomes a commune after 178 years as a communal section.

In anticipation of the official arrest, the Head of State took the opportunity to honor one of his campaign’s promises to make Dichiti from the commune’s stadium section come to Commune. After about 178 years since it was a section on the commune of Pestel, Dichiti today passes into the rank of the commune, a way to allow people living at the entrance of the Grandans department to benefit from all state services that go with its position.
Santral solè ki pral marye ak santral tèmik Jeremi an ap pran fòm li.

On the occasion of this significant announcement, President Jovenel Moïse instructed all the parties concerned to play their role in setting up this new commune, from the delimitation to the placement of all the offices and services the population will need to function.
As is the case in many communes in the country, His Excellency Jovenel Moïse urged the population to start working together to find land for the construction of the Dichiti power plant, which will allow them to benefit from the 24/24 power.
Following Dichiti, President Jovenel Moïse will continue to explore the Grandans department, to brainstorm with the population, and to keep an eye on the work being done either on the road or in the power plant installation. After four years in power, the Head of State will continue to work until February 7, 2022.
On the other hand, More than 400 prisoners have eloped from a Haiti prison (JAIL), and 25 people, including the jail director, have died in the gunfire incident.
Talking to reporters, a resident said, “Since we have another president like this, Haiti will be called the pearl of the Antilles for all Haitians; yes, it will not be the pearl of the Antilles for the colonists anymore.”
