Grenada: The Education Youth Sports and Culture Ministry will be implementing a new policy for the maintenance of Major Playing fields – only, effective December 1st, 2022.
In phase one of this implementation, two fields will be used as pilot Fields, with the gradual implementation of the other Major Fields.
This new arrangement is part of the ministry’s mandate to ensure that Playing Fields are managed more effectively and will be supported by implementing the Ministry’s Policy on Sport and Physical Activity.
Consequently, the arrangement with current contractors in these major fields only will be affected as the Ministry transitions to the implementation of this new policy and reassures all affected that they will have an opportunity for consideration, to be part of the process moving forward.
The ministry seeks the support of all involved, especially the contractors and users of these facilities, as they endeavour to improve the quality of service provided.
The government of Grenada and the Education Youth Sports and Culture Ministry of the country have been putting a lot of efforts in order to uplift and develop the sports sector. The ministry hosts various matches, including netball, football and cricket.
