During the vaccination, the prime Minister was quite at ease. After the immunization Prime Minister said, “The vaccination was very simple; this is a great experience.” He had assured the citizens that he would be among the first to take the vaccine once available.
As the vaccine is taken in double doses, the PM is anticipated to take the second shot of the vaccine on April 20th. He took the vaccine in a live telecast and inspired other people of Dominica to take the vaccine.
After taking the Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine, Prime Minister Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit stated that as all heads of governments, scientists had taken the vaccine; hence he is taking it too.
He also notified the people that there is no panic to take the vaccine & it has significantly lower side effects such as mild fever.
He mentioned that he is feeling good after taking the coronavirus vaccine. He noted that the government would continue its attempts to ensure the vaccine for its more extensive population. It sustained around 70,000 doses from country India, which the nation also shared with Guyana, St Lucia, St Kitts, and Nevis.
He stated that the nation would be received 20,000 doses of the Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine from the People’s Republic of China, and by March 2021, the vaccine from the COVAX facility is also anticipated to arrive.
Furthermore, the Dominican Prime Minister added, “It is important that we take the vaccine. It is in two doses, and my next appointment would be April 20th.”
On Monday, February 22nd, Dominica initiated its COVID-19 vaccination drive for the general public of the nation, which would immunize the vulnerable. The Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine drive is initiated in all seven health districts of the government.
