Dominica logs 133 fresh COVID infections
In total 133 new COVID cases have been reported, taking the toll of active cases to 482.

Roseau, Dominica: Ministry of Health and Wellness shared the COVID19 update report of January 3, 2021, according to which 133 new COVID cases have been reported, taking the toll of active cases to 482.
Of these freshly recorded infections, 132 individuals tested positive for the viral disease by Rapid Antigen Testing, while one individual by RT-PCR tests.
As per data shared in the health ministrys’ report, twenty-seven COVID19 patients got recovered and were discharged on Monday. With these discharge numbers, so far, a total of 6544 individuals have been recovered from the deadliest virus in Dominica.
In total, 47 Dominicans have been scummed to the contagious virus so far. The health ministrys’ report further shows that since the COVID19 outbreak emerged in the Caribbean island, a total of 7073 confirmed cases have been recorded by the healthcare authorities.
The total number of the tests conducted at the facilities in Dominica are 127949, out of which –
- number of individuals tested with RT-PCR testing method: 31847
- number of individuals tested with Rapid Antigen Testing: 96102
Vaccination data of Dominica –
A total of 30730 Dominicans are the ones who are partially vaccinated (those who received the first dose of the COVID19 vaccine), whereas around 28440 individuals are now fully immunised in the island against the deadliest mutant, as per the COVID update report of the health ministry.

In the recent episode of Annou Pale, show which is hosted by Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, he urged the citizens of the island to get themselves vaccinated, highlighting, “Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is one of the best ways to protect yourself and everyone around you from the infection. I call on all of us, to do what must be done to diminish the spread of this virus”.
