Nathalia Walsh, festival and Events Manager of the Discover Dominica Authority (DDA), spoke highly of the 23rd edition of the World Creole Music Festival. She also urged Dominicans to buy tickets to the festival while discounts are still applicable.
“Our regular season ticket is EC$400, at the gate [it] is EC$450, however, there is a special on right now at $375…,” she said. “If you wait until the weekend of the festival, you will pay EC$450 at the gate.”
The event will begin on October 27th and last till the 29th of the month and is expected to bring in fans and enthusiasts from the world over. The festival has become a popular attraction for tourists and locals alike and has played a major role in boosting tourism in the country. The event also acts as a shining example of Dominican culture for the whole world to witness.
Walsh also voiced her urgency by mentioning that the discounts would apply for a limited time period only.
She also stated that the nightly price is EC$150 on Friday, October 27, for those who choose to purchase their tickets early, and at the gate, it will be EC$175.
“On Saturday night only, it’s EC$200 and at the gate [it] is EC$250, so again, if you buy your nightly tickets now, you will save EC$50 and then on Sunday [it] is also EC$150 in advance and at the gate [it] is EC$175.”
This event has become a regular occurrence and has developed an obvious following among many people who travel from far and wide to witness it. It is also a representation of how Dominica, through the Discover Dominica Authority and other tourist organizations, has been able to expand its popularity and reach beyond what could be expected.
These initiatives are of great importance to the nation because a major portion of Dominica’s GDP depends on tourism or tourism related activities. The success of such events is a great sign for the Caribbean nation and the path that it is on.
